We recognize that as a company, we are part of a world beyond our walls. We believe in supporting the communities where we work and live and finding ways to help our neighbors. We strive to build meaningful relationships that have a lasting impact, both in time and generations to come. This commitment, fostered by Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Michele Logan, is one of our most important core values.
Our company and our team members individually are very active in the local and regional communities through volunteerism, mentoring and financial support. We donated thousands of volunteer hours, almost 1,000 pounds of food & clothing and over $100,000 in cash donations to local charities and organizations.
We have witnessed our employees embody these values and lead efforts as simple as placing flags on gravestones at Arlington Cemetery to collecting money to feed healthcare and emergency workers that put their lives on the line every day to protect us. We could not be more proud of them and look forward to continuing to support them and our community.
A Statement on Equality
from Our C.E.O.
The recent death of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and others in the Black community are the latest casualties of a long history of racial prejudice and violence in the US, and more than that, they are a tipping point. The deaths have shattered the status quo for many Americans, and they have reminded us that the ideals upon which our country was founded are still not available to all. These uncomfortable realities demand our attention, and we support the calls for a resolution to our country’s long-standing issues with racial injustice. Black lives matter to CompoSecure.
But we have not done enough. Despite many years of support and contributions we have made to local community organizations like Elijah’s Promise and Roots & Wings that support the Black community as well as other underserved populations, we must do more. We need to protect and actively promote a culture of racial equality within our walls, and with those in our broader network of influence. And we must do our part to improve the treatment of and opportunities available to members of the Black community. We can and will do more.
We have already begun identifying organizations that provide education, promote leadership, and deliver mentorship and support for businesses and entrepreneurs in the Black Community. CompoSecure’s foundation is built on the entrepreneurial drive of our co-founders and is at the core of our success. By going beyond a single donation with mentoring support, CompoSecure believes it will have the maximum impact for the advancement of the Black community by partnering with these organizations to create effective and long-lasting changes.
I have been listening to the real-life stories of friends and colleagues about when hate hit home for them. African Americans in all walks of life have been and are still being mistreated, dismissed and hurt by implicit yet pervasive racism. As a business leader, I vow to listen up, show up and demand an end to prejudice. I vow to support the pursuit of equality for the Black community. I know that words and intentions are not enough — it’s time for action. CompoSecure is committed to real changes and tangible improvements.
These changes will take time, but there is plenty that we can do to start taking steps forward. We are an ally in this movement towards justice, and we join our employees, vendors and other partners in the financial services industry as we all stand together for positive social change.
Together, we will take the necessary steps toward a better tomorrow.
